This is a collection of links from the past week or so. Enjoy!

The Comfortable Problem of Mid TV

  • Rings so true for me. Especially with Netflix and Apple TV, and I guess Prime shows too, there’s so much stuff with big budgets, great casts and are just… meh. I find myself going back to pre “peak TV” stuff more and more, like old episodes of Star Trek or Law and Order. Or even new procedural throwback shows like Elsbeth or Poker Face. Maybe they aren’t Hamlet, but they know how to tell a compelling story from beginning to end each episode.

Flagpole Sitta Harvey Danger Chords and Lyrics for Guitar

  • For some reason I’m taking my up the guitar again and having fun with it. This is one of my favourite songs of all time and actually really easy to play. And this is one of the few tab sites that doesn’t shunt you into an app and jam a subscription dialog into your face to continue.
  • As much of a tech geek as I am, I’m actually just printing tabs from this site to learn to instead of using my phone, which always turns off mid song.

Meet AdVon, the AI-Powered Content Monster Infecting the Media Industry

  • Deep dive into a very gross AI content generation company. Ugh, the web is just getting worse all the time.

Entrepreneurship is like one of those carnival games where you throw darts or so… | Hacker News

  • I think about this insight about the unfairness of entrepreneurship all the time. Yes, some poor people can make themselves very rich and successful. But the vast majority of people who are successful came from a successful upbringing. We do not live in a meritocracy.

Arc Search Lets You “Call” For Answers (And Comes With Action Button Shortcuts)

  • I’ve tried Arc Search / Browser a few times and it’s not really for me, but I do so admire their willingness to just get weird and creative with their features. This lets you use their app like a phone where you hold it to your ear and ask questions and it speaks answers. And it plays hold music while you wait for an answer!
  • Tech needs more weird and whimsy like this please.
