Love for Home Assistant

Every day I am just more and more impressed by Home Assistant. My Lutron Casetta dimmer came with a little remote I never needed. Until I realized it could be programmed in HA. Now it’s our little bedside table remote to trigger a scene with a combination of Hue and Meross bulbs. It responds almost instantly when pressed.

I previously used HomeKit to program Hue dimmer buttons to trigger Sonos for playing stations or playlists, but they often failed or were slow. I switched to Home Assistant, achieving a nearly instant and flawless response.

And the automations you can do just blow away what you can do in HomeKit. With HomeKit you can do shortcuts with complicated logic but they’re a pain to set up and often fail. And your trigger conditions are often limited. I haven’t hit a wall with HA yet and they’re perfectly reliable. So highly recommended.
